birthday re-cap + a moment of true happiness

I had a wonderful weekend. A birthday weekend at that.
I like to call it perfection.
Thank you ALL for all the birthday wishes. They made me that much
happier as I was receiving them throughout the day.
I feel very special.

♥

Friday night, we went to celebrate a birthday for a hometown friend, Michael
out at one of the hunting clubs located up the road. Aaron and I both enjoyed seeing
faces we don't get to see much including one of my favorites, Caitlin from a country nest. It was a great night - so great we arrived home at 2am.

Saturday evening, we had a birthday cookout out by the pool.
Besides the heat index of 102, it was the best evening spent with our wonderful friends & a handful of family members. Aaron & our good friend, Jon spent that morning recovering grocery shopping for  a low country boil, my favorite.  We had about {guessing} 40 people come over, again it was so wonderful. It took me all of 10 minutes of being outside before I was in the pool. It was craZy hot. I am ALL for the AC and not a big fan of sweating. Sadly, I did not take many pictures because well... I was enjoying myself that much and never thought of it until the very end of the night. And by that point I had drinken a little too much wine && the few I just captured, somehow deleted. I'm still confused about it.  It was 4am before we hit the pillow this night. Whoa, it's been a while since we've done that.

Sunday, we had a big day planned however I wasn't moving to fast && had a slight hangover from wine. Which incase you have never had one its awful.
We were supposed to be going to a park downtown Savannah for lunch & to spend the day, instead we had a late lunch at Jalapenos {which was really good}

I had to take some kind of picture to capture my 27th birthday...
even when I felt like poo.

Later I received a gift from my in-laws in which I've been wanting for SO long
now. Shutters for our house. It's been on our waiting list for quite some time &&
since the Easter Bunny did not bring them I was super happy to see these.

The hubby & I then went home ... && crashed for a little bit.
We were so exhausted && needing more than one hour of nap time but
unfortunately we had a visitation to attend that evening.

My BIL & Sister invited us over for steaks after the visitation
in which was really nice. We enjoyed it very much.

27th BIRTHDAY = marking something off my bucket list.

Yesterday, I laughed until I cried.
It was pure awesomeness.

My niece Emily {2.5 years old} performed for me && then on several accounts performed
for ALL of us.  It was so awesome & filled this heart of mine with so much happiness & laughter. What's not better than that?

{please excuse the coloring of the video.
I've yet to figure out how to manage that on YOUTUBE - it was not recorded like this. }

Is that not awesome? May I say that she has never taken any type of
dance lessons. She's a fan of "So You Think You Can Dance" & also watches her
two sisters dance all the time.

We ended the night with adult conversation while the kids were
wild && dancing all over the place.

Chloe & myself.

Punkle Aaron & Emily {love this photo}
{Definition of Punkle = Punk + Uncle = Punkle}

&& before we left that night I was receiving all sorts of calls & text messages
about our whether back home. Apparently we missed a small hurricane, thank goodness -
but when we did arrive at the house there were trees everywhere && half of our chimney was detached from our home. Wow!
Oh & no power.

It was a wondeful 27th birthday.
Cheers to another year!

So. Now that I'm completely off track & can't think about writing.
I figured I'd share what HAS taken the place of my breaks {aka blog time}

Stay tuned. You'll love it.

  All I gotta say.. is there are a lotta cool bloggers from TEXAS... but I learned a lot about the people from Houston, Texas.

Welcoming my favorite person I've never met:

Priceless. Period.

... So yesterday was my business trip to Atlanta.
I'll make this short. I'm exhausted. I want to go home. I want to sleep.

sorry.
anyway.
back to my point.
Somewhere between 8am - 6pm, one of the several classes I was in a corporate leader
entered this video into her lesson. We all fell in love as you will too. Definitely something we all could watch daily.

... Only if I could dance on my bathroom counter like this.
Moral of her point: We must stop beating ourselves up & learn to love what we see when we look at ourselves in the mirror. Have a positive attitude on who we are look past the imperfection.
What is perfection? I've never been able to define it myself. Can you?
FIVE positive things to say about  myself:
I like my hair .
I like my back. Clearly I do not see it in the mirror but when or if I do, I like what I see.
I like my curves. On most days
I like the shape & color of my eyes.  They've always been a good judge of character or actions.  I can always count on them.
I like my freckles.  They are a unique part of me.
What are the things you like when you see yourself in the mirror? Do you often tell yourself - point it out - say it out loud?
 Or do you find yourself seeing only the things you do not like? Well quit.
Start seeing your beauty for what it is.
Be more like Jessica { the girl in the video }.

1. Do you buy cheap or expensive toliet paper?
- Average. I buy Angel Soft.
Funny but after years and years of buying it, Aaron just informs me he
hates it. What? Really?

2. What are your top two pet peeves?
♥ when someone doesn't RSVP to an event they've been invited to.
absoultely erks my soul. seriously. There is a reasoning for RSVP - you can't prepare  properly without it.
♥♥ When people belittle someone else.
 This crawls under my skin terribly.

3. What's the name of your best friend & tell us her best trait.
I have a handful of friends I call my best.
They are my best because I can rely on them through any circumstances.
They are fun & full of life. They don't judge & look for the good in my bad.
Friendship has no drama & no end to its tunnel.
These girls keep my spirits high & life interesting.

4. Tell us one of your quirks? What's different about you?
I am the worlds worst interrupter.

Wedding RE-CAP Garter / Bouquet Toss

The Story before the Garter Removal.
From the beginning, I knew I wasn't going to rock my stilettos during the
entire wedding ceremony & reception. Why? Because as you can see my Groom is only like 3 inches taller than me {I love you baby} & even though I wear them on a daily basis... I didn't want to be the same height as him on our wedding day.Therefore I bought shoes just to take pictures with & mainly for the garter removal. So, that being said - I did have slippers to wear but they were removed immediately after the ceremony.

When our Dj - Chris announced it was time to remove the garter & toss the bouquet
something made me take a quick look at my feet because really... I was having so much fun at this point, I really didn't care about my sparkly shoes...
Thank goodness I did.

Not only are my feet beyond disgusting but so is my gown.
Proof of a good time! :)
I hit in the corner until my cousin Rachel brought my shoes.

You must press play to get the affect of
the garter removal. One of my favorite song choices...
plus you understand my facial expressions better.

Why Camo? - I chose this because in our time together
Aaron and I have had the honor of catching MANY garters & bouquets
{i think everyone always threw them to us... shhh don't tell}
He still has all his WHITE garters. I wanted something fun and interesting.
Something for the man to caught it to remember Aaron by.
And yes, I only had one. I didn't have one to keep for myself.

True Story: I also told Aaron about a week prior to the wedding that when it came to removing my garter do.not.act.scared. Nothing bothers me worst than to see a man reach his arms up a dress without lifting the dress up... Show some leg already. He didn't really have a choice... I kind of took charge of throwing my leg up.

{absolutely LOVE this picture of my husband. he looks so handsome {sexy}
to me! :)
------------------------------------------------------------------

... I'm thinking to myself..
'finally I get to not be the wildcat who desperately fights for the
bouquet'

 read.set.GO!

hilarious!
My Aunt Sue {recently recovering from a horrible divorce}
caught the bouquet. No... I don't really think she wants to get married anytime soon...
but it's still awesome!

On a scale from 1 to 10 -
rate her excitement!

Attached to my bouquet was a special something
I wrote for the lucky lady...

To the lady who caught my bouquet,
I wish you extraordinary happiness when you day comes to shine as a bride.
May all your hopes and dreams become reality, just as mine have today. If there are any words of wisdom to give to you, it would be to "always love more". Be patient, for your day will come - however long it takes, it's worth waiting for.
Thank you for being a part of my very dream come true.
Your Bride,
Mrs. Jessica Drew

So to the two lucky catchers-
Chuckie {my cousin} & Aunt Sue {My Aunt}
... I couldn't get my hands on the picture where Chuckie is blindfolded & putting the
garter on Aunt Sue's arm instead of her leg. I'll have to upload it later from my home computer and attach it to the random reception post.

...
Stayed tuned -
Next week is nothing but wedding posts.

The BEST day EVER! {Special Dances + some}

As soon as our parents, bridal party, and WE were announced into
the reception Aaron and I went straight into our first dance -
Heaven - Jason Aldean version

As sweet as we look, it started out a bit... overwhelming.
Our DJ didn't line us up for the entrance so that was a mess. I was panicking a bit. I had all this organized many weeks before and spoke with our DJ to make sure everything was perfect. My entire bridal party learned a dance to the song we walked into
'Step in the Name of Love - by R. Kelly {the song has history}
by the time we hit the center of the dance floor was when everyone was supposed to break it down, however... the DJ cut it off and announced our FIRST DANCE {which was supposed to happen after the entrance dance.} Not a huge deal, but still irriated me.

... he was so happy.

Also, after leaving my dress at the bridal shop for 2.5 weeks more than it should to have a total of SEVEN hooks to bustle the train.. the hooks were there but the loops were not.
Therefore, I had to tug this train {so heavy} around. It was a bit 'overwhelming' to dance in.
{picture of my Mom,  several Aunt's & a few cousins saftey pinning my dress up
so I could enjoy the night. That should NOT have to happen}

... i'm hugging Aarons little cousins. They called me 'Cinderella'.
it was so sweet the way they looked at me all.night.long

After a minute of our dance & high blood pressure, Aaron just looked at me and said...
"Breath. Live in this moment you've been waiting for. It's okay babe."

So I did, and it turned out to be a special moment.
It was so sweet & the song is more than perfect for us.
It decribes us from 11 years ago, when we first started dating... to now.
We had a time choosing the song. He wouldn't let up on this one.

"This song is perfect, J." - my groom

Funny Fact: In order to keep my dress from getting all bundled up we had to turn and then get half around around... and turn and go the other way. We felt as if we were in middle school. It was hilarious.. {not really} but it's funny now.

----------------------

Immeditately after our first dance, was Daddy Daughter Dance.
Daddy chose this song & got a little emotional during it.
It was so sweet.

& immediately after the Daddy Daughter...
came the Mother Son Dance.
This song is completely perfect for Aaron & his Mom.

favorite picture of mine

Will post two other special dances
later down the road....
Stay Tuned.

{My} Celebrity Talk

Y'all know my love for JB...
I know I confessed my {non skanky} my love for JB, but com'on now!
I do NOT believe this.
not one bit.
No way did he take action with her, better yet be the father of her baby.
This chick claims he is the father of her 3 month old baby. They had sex in 2010
in L.A Staples Center BATHROOM during a break of one of his shows. Her words are below...
"Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss.” Yeater hand-wrote in her complaint. “Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone. I agreed to go with him and on the walk to a private area, he told me he wanted to make love to me and this was going to be his first time.”

BULL Poop, sweetie! Go back to where you came from
and claim someone else as your poor babys daddy. Don't harm someone elses life because
you want the funds to raise your child.
UGH!

The day she reported this 'action' is the same day this was aired on
Lay Leno. Take a look, seriously... do so because this guy really rocks.

Team JB all.the.way!!!

-------------------------------------------------

"It's true. I'm going to be a mummy!"
Jessica Simpson is pregnant...
and I am happy.
Jessica Simpson
I've always been a fan of hers. Secretly I still pray her and Nick would
have NEVER split up and hope they would always be together again.
Clearly that isn't happening.
However, I love that she is preggers and I love this photoshoot.

Yay for marriage & babies!

---------------------------------------------------------------

72 Days... you're kidding?
That's like me and Aaron filing the D word in 13 days. NOT COOL.

Kris Humphries Was Chasing Fame
Never been a fan of the Kardashians & I didn't keep up with her wedding.
Therefore, I don't have a whole lot to say about this except that
I do believe it was all for fame & not necessarily money but the talk
the attention. Filing for a divorce 72 days after your wedding talks a lots about
'should've never got married in the first place.'
That being said when it announced that she was getting married, I remember thinking
"I didn't know she was dating anyone. How does someone who is talked about as much as her not get on the cover for dating someone like Jennifer Aniston... before announcing wedding planning?"

What's your intake. Tell me more.
