Thanks to the ladies who gave me feed back from yesterdays post!
Time is getting closer, and I'm super excited.
Before I answer the question that was asked, "What is Dirty Santa?"
I will brag on myself and tell you that I'm getting better at this hosting thing. :)Why? Because, after posting that yesterday I googled, "Tacky Christmas Party Ideas" It gave me many choices, so I just clicked on the first one.
The website listed 10 things to have to make a great party.
I already have 9 out of the 10 [made me really happy]... and if you read yesterdays post, you know I was asking for maybe another game... Well, that website made me really happy because the 10th one was an idea for another game... Kinda. It said to make sure the Bathroom line was entertaining... ?Huh?
How can a bathroom line ever be entertaining?
Well, you wrap the door in Christmas Wrapping paper with a bow and have your guests write messages or comments or just sign it as they wait.
Okay, so maybe this isn't a game, but it's definitely something to spice the party up.
My friends are crazy, especially the guys so it should be very interesting to see how it ends up by the end of the night. I promise I will share everything with you.
Okay, on to the question.
What is Dirty Santa?
You probably already know what it is only you've always called it something else... maybe, White Elephant, or Secret Santa... I think I've heard someone call it Chinese Christmas... which really confuses the heck out of me??? What does that mean, Chinese Christmas? Anyway...
Here is how we play:
First let me explain why it's called dirty santa. You don't have to go out and buy a box of condoms or a vibrator. [HA] It simply means, your gift can be stolen from you, and that is just... dirty. The gifts can be anything.. I mean, if you want to buy a box of condoms, then do so. Hopefully, in that case it's only adults & not children. :)
Okay, so we have 24 people coming that i know of [ANY blogger friend of mine, and a guest are MORE than welcome to come. Forget about my friends... Can we PLEASE have Christmas party next year.. please?] Okay, back to the rules... Sorry, I have A.D.D so I get sidetracked a LOT. Some people may not have brought a gift and that is okay too. This was not mandatory, of course. 12 GIFTS [i asked one gift per couple] I will cut out pieces of paper numbering them from 1-12. Each person/couple draws a number. I usually end up with #1, which stinks. The gifts of in the middle of everyone and the guests sit from 1 to 12 in a circle around the gifts. #1 picks their wrapped gift first. They open it and either laugh, laugh... or usually laugh. Maybe they love it. They probably hate it. #2 picks their gift, they can decide whether they want to keep it or trade with #1. #3 opens their choice of presents and they can pick from #1 or #2.
And it keeps going like that. #12 is the best sit in the house. Because they will be able to pick out of 11 gifts or keep the one they opened.
It's pretty fun! Now, there are many different ways to play this game.
LAST year, we brought a toilet seat, a four pack of toliet paper, a Cosmo, & an air freshner. It was great.
THIS year, we didn't get anything funny... but I thought it was a great gift

OMG - I love those Christmas Story glasses! That is my favorite Christmas movie!!
We play the game every year at my family Christmas get together - only we ask that everyone bring a homemade gift!! It's usually very interesting!! Also - at the very end of our game whoever had #1 gets one last & final pick of all the gifts that have already been open, b/c they initially didn't get the choice to steal or open a gift!!!
Hope y'all have a great time! And I love the bathroom line idea!! Awesome - I'll have to remember that one!
I'm hosting my first ever giveaway and I'm so excited - stop by & enter if you get a chance!!

You are the hostess with the mostess!!! I LOVE THE IDEA OF WRAPPING YOUR DOOR IN CHRISTMAS PAPER AH! Can you send me the link where you found all your good hosting ideas????
I wish we lived closer to each other and knew each other! Your party sounds like its going to be an absolute BLAST! Love the dirty Santa idea and wrapping your bathroom door!
P.S. I also loved the Gingerbread Party and am dying to have one!
We do a white elephant gift exchange like that at Joe's grandparents house on Christmas eve. Except under their rules a gift can only be stolen 3 times max. Once it has been stolen that many times its "dead" and whoever has it gets to keep it. Joe's mom usually brings scratch-off tickets, and they are usually a HUGE hit. Last year I got this really ugly tacky red challice looking thing. Nobody wanted to steal it, obviously. It sucked! Hoping for a comeback this year!
