Wedding Wednesday: Things To Do

April 13, 2011
143 days to go

Invitations: Boy oh boy... I am just not mastering the whole invitation thing. After all the searching to find the perfect invites and no luck, I'm pushing this behind. I need to just settle on one. Blah Blah Blah.

Select Bridesmaids Dresses: I've done this. However, I have the want to change them. I have a new vision. I don't think this is a good idea... You will see why later. {The After Wedding Posts}

Favors: I've started my favors. We're doing two different things being I couldn't make my mind up between the two. One is more of a favor than the other. I'm trying to get creative with one and hand making the other. Time consuming. I'm having a blast. What were your favors?

Picking Music: We finally know the song we are dancing to as Husband & Wife. Out of ALL the songs we have, we picked a new one. I'm excited. There are other songs I do know I'm using & others that have yet to be decided. I'd love to hear what your First Dance song was? & You Father/Daughter Dance was?

The Venue: We need to schedule another visit to see out venue, The Belle House. ONE} They are upgrading certain areas. TWO} We need to map out everything. {Any Suggestions; What to think about}

Hair Trial: Appointment, Monday May 12th. {Any Suggestions}

Officiant: Meet with him and discuss further details. Yes, we have officially booked out officiant. I started to sweat a little. However, I finally got a hold of the person we originally wanted; A Teacher from our High School who knows us & our high school relationship well.

Rehearsal: We have booked our Rehearsal dinner @ a local restaurant called The Mill House.  We just have to meet with them sometime here soon to choose a menu. This place has a hugh variety of dishes. In the city of Statesboro, we are getting married, there aren't many options to choose from. We were completely fine with coming back to our hometown and having a low key dinner out by the ponds. Aaron's parents didn't really want to do that due to the distance between the towns. We understood. The Mill House will be perfect.

I am crazy excited to show the ladies everything.

Hi I just started following your blog a couple weeks ago & wanted to leave a comment. Seems like all your wedding planning is coming along good. I just got married last July.

The song we danced to as husband and wife was "me & you" by Kenny Chesney & the Father/Daughter dance was "I loved her first" by Heartland
What can I say I'm a country girl :)

Random...I usually check blogs first thing in the morning at work, so I generally use my "mute" so I don't annoy my coworkers.

This morning I happened to have my volume turned up, and I LOVE LOVE LVOE your play list :) Haha, all this time, and I didn't even realize you had a playlist.

The invitations were actually one of the easiest things for me! Since my theme is black and white damask you wouldn't believe the shit (pardon my french) they have for that! It's like really popular right now and I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing because I was definately all about being original! Anyways... I found mine at Michael's. They were so easy and much cheaper than ordering them from somewhere. I swear we spent more in postage than anything else! The bridesmaids dress were super easy for me... I knew what I wanted and I think that helps. Can't wait to see what you chose! I am doing two favors, too! One is a black and clear damask cellophane bag filled with party mints and tied with black ribbon (there will be one tied with hot pink ribbon per table for some spice) and then we did the black and white sugar lollipops with our name and wedding date on them also tied up with a hot pink ribbon! I could NOT decide on just one! ha We chose Lady A's "When You Got a Good Thing" as our first dance. "Our song" is God Bless the Broken Road but I really felt like that was overplayed and I felt like Lady A's song totally fit! My father and I are dancing to "I'll Always Be Your Baby" by Natalie Grant. LOVE. I am going to be crying like a little baby! haha As you know I just did my trial run for my hair at the beginning of this week. I would suggest you really take some time and look at photos online. Their books in most salons are horrible. For me I ended up finding my hair on the 10th page of hairstyles online on google search. I knew it was the one when I saw it and I never veered from that. I fear that if you go in there not knowing what you want you might not be happy with the end result. Regardless you are going to be a B E A UTIFUL bride and I am beyond extatic for you!!!!

We designed our invitations based off something my mom found on the computer. And I wouldn't suggest changing bridesmaids dresses but that's just my opinion. We didn't do favors. My mom said we didn't need to and I had a lot of people compliment us on how great our wedding was so it turned out A-OK!! haha I didn't even have a hair trial... just went the day of the wedding with ideas in mind. It all worked out ok b/c in the end the only thing that matters is that you walk away as a Mrs.
