her embarrassing moment turned into her happily ever after, meet abbey

Hello, hello! I am Abbey from Along Abbey Road. I am so excited to meet all of you lovelies!
What better way to get to know someone than to read a sordid tale of embarrassment? After all, if we're going to be friends, I figure I should share my deepest bouts of humiliation with you. Maybe you will sympathize, or maybe you will get a good laugh. Or both.
Ok. Here it goes...

Once upon a time The Mister wasn't The Mister, but instead the boy down the hall whom I was seriously in love with. He had a little crush on me too, but I had it pretty bad for him. If asked if I was in love with him, I would have answered with a resounding, "YES!"
I'm not so sure he was at this same point of feeling, however.
One night after he and I hung out, I was feeling especially giddy and decided to text my friend, Darcy, about how much I loved him and wanted to be with him forever...blah, blah, blah. The texts were getting pretty sappy and gushy--the way us girls get when we talk about love. It's different than when we talk about love with boys, right?
The next message I sent was a brutally honest confession of my undying love for him (to Darcy because I didn't have the nerve to tell him yet), and it went something like,
"I just think he is so amazing and I honestly am falling in love with him. He is so handsome and perfect and I don't ever want to be with anyone else for the rest of forever!"
Sweet, right?
Yeah...it was until I looked down at my phone and saw "Chachi" displayed across my screen as the message was being sent. For the record, Chachi is The Mister's old nickname when we first started dating. Don't ask me why.
I CANNOT DESCRIBE THE MORTIFICATION I FELT!

My heart was racing, I started screaming and scratching at my phone, like it was really going to listen to me and take back what I had just sent.I quickly tried to divert by blasting him with 15 texts, in hopes he wouldn't see the first one...
That clearly didn't work.
I promptly received a reply that said,
"Lol, tell me how you really feel."
Basically what happened was I typed his name into the recipient box of the message because I was so wrapped up in conversation about him. How many of you have sent a message to the person you are talking about? It is the most horrifying thing in the world. Truly at the top for most embarrassing moment. Luckily, he was flattered and our love bloomed from there, and now we have been married 2.5 years and are expecting a handsome, little prince in January!

Moral of the story:

Some embarrassing moments can turn into a happily ever after.

Was that not the cutest story ever?
I love it. Abbey, I'm wearing the biggest most cheesest smile right now.
This was awesome! Thank you for sharing with us.

I HAVE done this before. However it wasn't a 'pour my heart out' text... it was just the opposite. I'll write a post on it. Your reactions and such definitely gave me deja vu'. :)
hilarious.

PS. - this last picture of you and Chachi... awesome!

Oh my gosh what a funny story!! I always get so nervous about accidentally texting the wrong person. I like obsessively check to make sure I'm sending it to the right place. I'm glad it all worked out for you despite the embarrassment!
